We are seeking an Accounts Payable Officer to join our team on a permanent basis. This position is ideally full-time, however part-time (minimum 30 hours/week) will be considered. This position is suitable for recent graduates with a relevant degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, or experienced professionals with a keen interest in accounts payable.
The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to join our Finance Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the College's accounts payable processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and reconciliations. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with vendors, ensuring compliance with financial policies, and supporting the overall financial operations of the College
As our Accounts Payable Officer, your responsibilities will involve:
- Verify and process invoices, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and match them with purchase orders and receipts.
- Resolve discrepancies and issues related to invoices.
- Prepare and process electronic payments, ensuring timely payment of invoices.
- Reconcile accounts payable transactions and vendor statements.
- Maintain and update vendor files, and communicate with vendors regarding payment status.
- Assist with month-end closing, reporting, and financial audits.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and support the Chief Financial and Operating Officer with financial tasks as needed.
To be considered for this opportunity you will have:
- Relevant experience and/or qualifications
- Intermediate/advanced use of Microsoft 365 and Windows 365.
- Experience using Synergetic and/or Alii is advantageous
- Ability to work autonomously and as a constructive member of a team.
- Ability to exercise discretion, confidentiality, and judgement when dealing with sensitive financial matters.
- A commitment to exceptional customer service.
