The College is seeking an experienced School Administration Systems Specialist to join our IT team.

This newly created position is responsible for ensuring that critical school administration systems are aligned with user needs, progressively enhanced, and configured for optimal performance. The incumbent will play a central role in maintaining and enhancing systems, including those used for managing student information, class timetabling, parent-teacher interviews, co-curricular activities, finance, human resources, risk management and IT service management. They will engage key stakeholders, apply agile methodologies to manage system improvements, and oversee the configuration and rollout of new features in school administration applications.

As the School Administration Systems Specialist, your responsibilities will involve:

  • Stakeholder engagement and requirements gathering - including working closely with a range of stakeholders to understand needs and requirements and facilitating workshops and feedback sessions
  • Product and backlog management - including managing system improvements and configuration changes, developing and maintaining a product roadmap
  • Agile implementation and sprint planning - including applying agile methods to plan and execute, organising and managing sprints
  • System configuration and optimisation - including leading the configuration and customisation of systems, and managing the deployment of changes
  • Systems administration - including managing server patching, updates and maintenance, performing regular backups, monitoring system performance and responding to incidents, and managing user access and permissions
  • Process improvement and best practices - including continuous review and refinement, staying up to date with, and making recommendations for, best practice developments
  • Technical support and training - including providing second-level support for complex issues and developing and delivering training programs

To be considered for this opportunity you will have:

  • Experience in IT systems administration with a focus on application configuration and stakeholder management
  • Proficiency in agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and experience with sprint planning and backlog management.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments.
  • Familiarity with school administration systems (e.g. Synergetic, Edval, SEQTA) is highly desirable.
  • Experience in the education sector or familiarity with school administration operations.
  • Hands-on experience with configuring and optimizing cloud-based school systems.
  • Project management certification (e.g., PMP, Agile, Scrum Master) is a plus.
  • Experience in identifying, configuring, and implementing business application improvements.
  • Experience with operating system patching, updating and maintenance, as well as system backups and monitoring is desirable
  • Experience of troubleshooting, service management best practices, systems documentation and end user training is also highly desirable
